1. Download & install Akkadu’s AI live captions software
Go to ➡️ Download Now!
Download our Windows or macOS application
After you install, it should look like this
Create an account
Open Akkadu software then click any button.
It will show below login interface.
Click Register.
You can register with your social media account or email.
If you choose email, just fill in your:
- Username
- Password
- Confirm password
- Email validation code (which we will send to your email)
Click Register.
2. Enable Akkadu live captions
2.1 Language settings
Go to the “Languages” section.
Select the Original language and Translated language.
- “Original language” is the language you will use during the TikTok live stream.
- “Translated language” is the language you want to show the AI-powered live captions on screen.
2.2 Audio input settings
Go to “Audio Input” → ”Basic”
Select “Microphone audio” to translate your voice during the TikTok live stream
2.3 Subtitles settings
Go to “Subtitles settings”:
- In “Font size” section, for best visibility set the font size to 60 or greater.
- In “Show subtitles” section, select Translation if you only want to display the translated captions on your screen.
(Optional)
If you want to show on the screen both languages at the same time, the original and translated one:
- Go to “Show subtitles” section
- Select ”Both”
Now in the screen can be seen both languages:
2.4 Start Akkadu
Click Start
Remember the AI live captions won’t show unless you start talking.
Tips:
- Click the ”pin” icon. When it's blue, Akkadu's live captions will always stay on top of other windows.
- Click the ”pin” icon again. When it's white, you can display other content over the Akkadu subtitles.
3. Download & install OBS Studio (Free)
Go to OBS website
Download and install the Windows or macOS application
Open OBS
4. Connect OBS Virtual Camera
4.1 Add one scene
Click the + button in the bottom-left corner
Enter a scene name
Click “OK”
4.2 Add Akkadu live subtitles source
First, ensure the Akkadu software is launched and remains open.
Click the ”pin” icon at the top-right of the Akkadu window.
When the icon changes from blue to white, OBS can be overlaid on top of it.
⚠️ Important: Akkadu should remain opened behind OBS. Never minimized or closed.
Click + button in the bottom of the Sources section
Select “Window Capture”
After clicking ”Window Capture,” a new window will appear.
Click the ”Window” dropdown menu, select [akkadu-ai.exe]:App Home
Once Akkadu interface is visible, click “OK”.
Now you can see the AI live captions interface in OBS ✅
4.3 Add Video Capture Device
Click + button in the bottom and select “Video Capture Device”.
Two windows will then appear in succession:
- ”Create/Select Source”
- ”Properties for Video Capture Device ”
Click “OK” on both.
⚠️ Important:
To ensure the translated subtitles are always displayed on top of the TikTok live stream:
- Drag and drop the ”Window Capture” source above the ”Video Capture Device” in the list.
4.4 Customize your video and subtitle layout
- Your screen should now look like the below image, with both the video and the Akkadu screen visible.
- Feel free to adjust the size and position of the video and subtitles within the captured frame.
- As a final step, click “Start Virtual Camera”.
5. Start your TikTok live stream with live captions
Open TikTok Live Studio.
Click on Camera settings.
Select the “OBS Virtual Camera”.
Now you are ready to live stream with AI live captions in the language you want.
Click “Go LIVE” to start your TikTok live stream 🎉

Problems you may encounter & how to solve them
- The AI live captions are not showing
- The AI live captions are showing very slow
- The Akkadu app is not updating to the latest version
If you have any of these problems, please check the below solutions:
Problem 1: The AI live captions are not showing
Constantly recognizing but never showing the live captions:
To avoid this problem, make sure:
- Your internet is stable
- You are not using VPN
- You are actually speaking
- In Akkadu audio settings, you selected your microphone
- Unnecessary apps are closed so you have more RAM memory available

Problem 2: The AI live captions are showing very slow
The live captions are showing but, they show very slow, with a long delay:
To avoid this problem:
- Make sure your interent is stable
- Make sure you are not using VPN
- Close unnecessary apps to free up RAM memory
- If the problem starts happening during the TikTok live stream:
- First, click the pause button
- Then click the start button again:
Remember:
- Click Pause ➡️ Start will clean the RAM memory used by the app.
- For low performance computers you may have to do this every 2 hours.
- We recommend you use a computer with at least 16 GB RAM memory.

Problem 3: Akkadu app is not updating to the latest version
After you click “Update”, the app is not updating and the blue button always keeps showing:
To avoid this problem, make sure:
- You are not using VPN
- You disable your antivirus (only while updating)
- Download the latest version from our website ➡️ Akkadu.ai

📝 How to obtain the transcription
Akkadu's live captions automatically generate original and translated transcripts during your TikTok live stream.
Follow below 5 steps to get your transcription:
1. Go to the “Transcripts” section
You will see all your transcripts with the:
- Date & time of creation
- Duration
2. Select “View”
(Optional)
You can delete the transcription at any time.
Deleted transcripts will be permanently removed from our systems.
3. Choose between the original or translated language
Since the transcription is saved in real time,
you can access to your live transcription during your TikTok live stream, while still using the app
(Optional)
You can edit the transcription at any time.
Notice, editing for one language won’t automatically edit the other language.
4. Click “Export”
If you want to download the transcripts, click “Export”
5. Click “Confirm”
Before confirming, make sure to select the correct:
- Name
- Path
- Format (currently support .txt and .pdf)
- Language

📈 How to improve the accuracy
You can improve the accuracy of the AI live captions during your TikTok live stream, in just 4 steps:
1. Go to the “Terminology” section
2. Improve the Speech Recognition of the AI
- Go to the Speech Recognition section.
- Select the language you will use during the live stram
- Add words or sentences you are likely to say, such as names, locations, or industry-specific terms.
The words that you add will have higher importance and will be more likely to be recognized.
3. Improve the Translation of the AI
- Go to Translation section
- Select the language of the translation
- Insert the words or sentences that you want to swap as an equation (e.g., acadu=Akkadu)
This ensures whenever the AI sees the word ”acadu” (incorrect), it automatically changes it to ”Akkadu” (correct).
4. Click Save
You can insert terminologies at any time, even during the TikTok live stream.
Make sure after you Save, to click Pause then click Start again so the changes take effect.
