5 Steps To Live Translate Teams Meetings | AI Live Captions

1. Download & install Akkadu AI live captions software
Go to Akkadu.ai
Download our Windows or macOS application
After you install, it should look like this
2. Create an account
Open Akkadu software then click any button.
It will show below login interface.
Click Register.
Fill up your:
- Username
- Password
- Confirm password
- Email validation code (which we will send to your email)
Click Register.
3. Select language & click Start
Login with your new credentials.
Go to the “Languages” section.
Select the Original language and Translated language.
- “Original language” is the language used by the person you are talking to.
- “Translated language” is the language you want to read the AI-powered live captions.
Go to “Audio Settings” → “Sound source” section.
Make sure “Computer sound” is selected.
This allows our application to detect and translate anything you listen on your laptop.
(Optional)
Go to the “Subtitles Settings”
Choose if you want to see the AI-powered live captions of the:
- Original language,
- Translated language or,
- Both languages
Finally, click Start ▶️
Notice, the AI live captions won’t show up until your Microsoft Teams video call starts.

4. Open Teams
You can open the Microsoft Teams desktop application or the Microsoft Teams web version.
Tip:
Click the “pin” to make the live captions always show in front of Teams’s interface.
Even in full screen mode!
5. Start your Teams meeting
As soon as the call starts, you will see the live captions.
For the below example,
- we are showing Both (Original and Translated) captions,
- the languages are “Original: English” and “Translated: Chinese”

Problems and solutions
- The AI live captions are not showing
- The AI live captions are showing very slow
- The Akkadu app is not updating to the latest version
If you have any of these problems, please check the below solutions:
Problem 1: The AI live captions are not showing
Constantly recognizing but never showing the live captions:
To avoid this problem, make sure:
- In Akkadu audio settings, you selected “Computer audio”
- The Teams meeting started, and you can hear the speaker talking to you
- You are not using VPN
- Change your network. For example, from Wi-Fi to 4G.

Problem 2: The AI live captions are showing very slow
The live captions are showing but, they show very slow, with a long delay:
To avoid this problem, make sure:
- You are not using VPN
- Change your network. For example, from Wi-Fi to 4G.

Problem 3: Akkadu app is not updating to the latest version
After you click “Update”, the app is not updating and the blue button always keeps showing:
To avoid this problem, make sure:
- You are not using VPN
- You disable your antivirus (only when updating)

📝 How to obtain the transcription
Every time you use Akkadu AI live captions during your Teams video calls, the transcriptions of the original and translated language are:
Automatically saved!
Follow below 5 steps to get your transcription:
1. Go to the “Transcripts” section
You will see all your transcripts with the:
- Date & time of creation
- Duration
2. Select “View”
(Optional)
You can delete the transcription.
Deleted transcripts will be permanently removed from our systems.
3. Choose between the original or translated language
Since the transcription is saved in real time,
you can access to your live transcription even during the Teams video call
(Optional)
You can edit the transcription
Notice, editing for one language won’t automatically edit the other language.
4. Click “Export”
If you want to download the transcripts, click “Export”
5. Click “Confirm”
Before confirming, make sure to select the correct:
- Name
- Path
- Format (currently support .txt and .pdf) and,
- Language

📈 How to improve the accuracy
You can improve the accuracy of the AI live captions during your Teams meetings,
in just 4 steps:
1. Go to the “Terminology” section
2. Select the Original language
At the moment, you can only improve the speech recognition system.
Make sure the language you select is the same as the Original language in the “Languages” section.
3. Insert words or sentences
The terms that you add will have higher importance and will be more likely to be recognized.
Examples of words and sentences include:
- Names
- Geographical locations
- Homonyms
- Words or Acronyms unique to industry organizations
4. Click Save
If you were using Akkadu while doing these changes,
after you click Save, pause and start Akkadu
